I'm very proud to say that I gained some weight finally. So much has passed in the last few weeks and I've been so busy to even write them down. Oh geezz, here we go with the bullet-type updates:
- My volunteer work with the Senior Care Center at Crouse has been going very well. I really like it. I get to talk to older patients. Lots of very amazing and touching stories. Mortality is so real now. Life is so short.
- I went to Upstate open house last Saturday and it was great. Since I already went last year, there wasn't any new info that I could use this time. However, I got to talk to Isabelle (admission advisor) and I think it's wonderful that she recognized and remembered my name although the last time I met her was like 6 months ago. Communication and impression are very important. I hope she will give my application some extra attention!
- SU Health Professions Advising turned down my petition for sponsorship. To be honest, I don't even know what the sponsorship is. They are still going to write me a letter of recommendation, give me advise and I don't see what else I'm missing from the "sponsorship". Anyhow, I had my letter interview (so that the interviewer can write me a letter a recommendation) last week and I think I aced it. We talked for over an hour. I was very emotional but overall I think the interviewer was pretty impressed. I'm happy that it went so well.
- I just got another shadow opportunity with Crouse. This time I'll be shadowing a neurologist. Very exciting!
- A little over a week ago, we bought a new car. A 2011 Red Ruby Subaru Outback. I love it. Well... we're still fighting over who would be driving it... :) I think I may win in the end but who knows. We're also fighting (on and off) about his Vegas trip. I want him to go with his friends, but I'm against him going for too long. They have this stupid plan of staying in Vegas for 5 days. FIVE DAYS! What can you do in Vegas for 5 days? I've been there many times, and I partied like crazy, but 3 days were already too much for me. Sometimes I think he was so insensitive. It's gonna cost a lot of money for the Vegas trip (flight, hotel, shows, stripclub, gambling, drinks) if they stay there for too long. We just bought a new car, have a new baby on the way, prepare for my school, etc... We're gonna be in debt!
- I spent about $400 on car-care products. It's crazy I know. About $200 went into buying polishing system (Zaino) and $170 went into buying car-wash products (Optimum No Rinse). The results: I washed both our cars yesterday in the garage at 30F degree with only 30 minutes on each car. The ONR is amazing. I'm so sold on this. I can't wait for the weather to warm up a little bit so that I can put the Zaino coats on the cars. I'm thinking about buying paint and clearcoat to touch up my honda accord too.
- Tomorrow I'm taking the Subaru to Ziebart for rust proofing. Hopefully it will last a long time.
- Guess what's important coming up next week? My ultrasound. We'll find out the gender of the turnip next Tuesday. They will also look at its anatomy to make sure everything is developing normal. I think the turnip will be OK. I can't wait. Then after that I can start buying some baby clothes.... Awwww
- I got a facebook message from a friend about my pregnancy and it touched me! I'm gonna have to write a separate post for this later.
- Tomorrow I shadow Dr. Fairbank again. Hopefully she'll be in a better mood. I really have to finish up my autobio and bring it to her. Else she'll be PISSED!
- More to come, when and if I have time.
